Crystal Bracelet Size Calculator

Enter your wrist size and get the exact bead count — 6 mm to 12 mm rounds, comfort allowance included.

This crystal bracelet size calculator answers the question every maker asks first: how many beads for a crystal bracelet? Enter your wrist circumference and it converts your measurement into an exact bead count for 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm and 12 mm rounds — each size worked out for the same wrist, so you can compare layouts at a glance. The elastic comfort allowance is included, so the numbers you see are the beads you actually string.

Four crystal bracelet layouts for the same wrist circumference — how bead diameter changes the bead count, from 6 mm to 12 mm

Measure snug, no slack — the elastic comfort allowance is added automatically.

How the math works

  1. 1

Target inner length = wrist size + 0.8 cm elastic comfort allowance.

  2. 2

Bead count = target length ÷ bead diameter, rounded.

  3. 3

Mixed sizes: one 8 mm bead ≈ two 6 mm beads — the design tool handles this automatically.

FAQ

How many beads do I need for a crystal bracelet?

For an average 6.5-inch (16.5 cm) wrist you need roughly 22–26 round 8 mm beads; smaller 6 mm beads take about 28–32. The calculator converts your exact wrist size into a bead count instantly, including the stretch comfort allowance.

How much string do I add for comfort?

Elastic cord bracelets fit best with about 0.8 cm (0.3 in) of extra stretch beyond your bare wrist measurement. Measure snug, no allowance — the calculator adds the comfort margin for you.

How do I measure my wrist for a bracelet?

Wrap a soft tape measure snugly around the thinnest part of your wrist and read the circumference. With a paper strip, mark the overlap and lay it flat against a ruler. Do not add slack.

Does bead size change the count?

Yes — the count scales inversely with bead diameter: the same wrist takes roughly twice as many 6 mm beads as 12 mm beads. Mixed sizes and spacer beads change the layout too, which the design tool handles automatically.
